'Make a Difference' week

We had lots of fun with P4 making a difference to our school grounds.

Everyone worked really hard beginning our 'Mound Makeover' and we all agreed that we would like to spend more time improving our school grounds... watch this space!!!!!

'Meet the Teacher'

Thank you to everyone who came along to our 'Meet the Teacher' afternoon, it was great to meet you all and I look forward to getting to know you all better over the coming academic year.

Out of School Achievements :)

At Glaitness we love to celebrate the children's achievements out of school too. Class 3/4S are welcome to bring certificates, medals etc... into school and I will add them to our blog.

Below we celebrate Kiera beginning violin tuition, Gemma celebrating completing her Brownie Promise, Jack & Robert celebrating their selection for the Primary Indoor Football League, Kirsty teaching me how to make a fishtail pleat, Jack's wonderful Eco house that he made with his Grandad and Alfie's super idea on how to use the lanyard given to him by Captain Wylie.

PS. The Primary Indoor Football League will be kicking off on Saturday 25th October with a 4pm kick off at Picky, all 23 teams will be playing on the first night.

Ghanaian Drumming/Dance Group Kakatsitsi

Boys and girls, I have posted these photos to remind you of the fantastic learning experience we had when the master drummers and dancers from the fishing community of Jamestown, Accra came to visit our school.

I really enjoyed learning some rhythms, chants and the traditional dance, what did you enjoy the most?

'Island Hoppers'

What a fun topic this has been boys and girls. You have learned almost everything we planned to find out about and we still have our trip to Shapinsay to go on!

I think we all particularly enjoyed our visit to the Orkney Island Ferry Office where we met Captain Wylie. Captain Wylie knew lots about the Island Ferries, can you remember what his favourite ferry was called?

Island Hopper Quiz

Island Hoppers, can you solve the anagrams of the Orkney Islands we have been learning about and write a comment telling me which island you think I have missed out?
